The owners of Kahle's Kitchens, Inc., Dave and Barb Kahle of Leeper, formalized the business in the early 1980s in the garage at their residence. Kahle's first full time employee was hired in the spring of 1983, and employment has grown steadily to over 90 full time employees.

In 1985 Kahle's opened its first showroom in the Marianne area and also purchased the former Farmington school property on Route 36 North of Leeper. Since then, Kahle's has expanded their facility every year without the use of state or federal funding. Recent expansions include a remodeled showroom with 13 full displays, a production area expansion adding nearly 20,000 square feet, and the installation of numerous state-of-the-art computerized production machines. Today, Kahle's Kitchens, Inc., occupies a 60,000+ square foot factory.

Kahle's takes pride in using local labor and local suppliers as much as possible. Annually, nearly 1 million dollars of hardwood lumber is purchased locally and 1.7 million dollars is paid in employee wages and benefits, strengthening the local economy.
